A well balanced source of energy
Agen prunes contain only small amounts of proteins and fats, but their calorie content is rich in carbohydrates that are fully broken down by the body, as opposed to the lipids that are so strongly criticised by nutritionists. Prunes are therefore not as rich in calories as was previously thought, and make an ideal energy-giving food supplement that also supplies valuable protective substances.

The sugars in Agen prunes are a well-balanced combination of glucose, fructose and sorbitol. Each type has its own unique properties that, from a nutritionist's point of view, make prunes a food that is mid-way between the so-called "slow sugar" and "fast sugar" types. The sugars in Agen prunes also help to prevent hypoglycaemia and reduce hunger pangs and reactive feelings of hunger.
