Approval |
| The approval stage involves checking
the quality of the prunes delivered by the growers on their
arrival in the handler's premises. Very exact specifications,
defined by the EU, only allow acceptance of the best prunes.
The specifications define the maximum moisture content (23 %)
as well as the type and extent of flaws that are considered
unacceptable. This means that only the very best prunes are
selected at this stage - all others are destroyed or used by
distilleries or for other industrial purposes. |
