From the Ente Plum to the Prune
The Agen prune is the fruit of many centuries of careful husbandry, and still requires constant care and attention from growers. From the Ente plum to the Agen prune, much has to be done to obtain the tender, tasty, juicy delicacy that's come to be known as the "black gold of Aquitaine".

The ripe plums are dark purple in colour, with a bluish tinge. They are ready to harvest when the fine, firm skin is easily removed from the sweet, tender, juicy yellow flesh.
